I am an integrated counsellor, and my core model is person centred. For me counselling is, to put it plainly, a form of talk therapy. As a counsellor I will be warm, responsive, and non-judgmental to help form a counselling relationship with you. This relationship is important for you to feel comfortable enough to speak to me openly and for us to build mutual trust.
In forming a counselling relationship with me we both have our part to play, however, you will always be the most important person in this relationship. I will always show a genuine interest in you as a unique person in your own right.
I may introduce other forms or types of counselling (integration) which may support or help you in your counselling journey. This will only happen after we have discussed it thoroughly and you feel it is the right thing for you.
Our counselling journey will come to a natural end, but at any time, if we feel another counsellor or specialist help would be more appropriate, we will discuss this. As a counsellor, I have a duty of care to you at all times. Anything and everything we do will be discussed and your decision is of the utmost importance in this.
You don’t have to know all the theory to start or complete your counselling journey but if you are interested, there is a bit more detail below:
It was an approach developed by the American Counselling Psychologist, Carl Rogers in the 1940’s. It is grounded in the idea that people are inherently motivated towards positive psychological functioning. Is a non-directive form of talk therapy where you act as an equal partner in the process whilst your therapist is non-directive.

· …along with many more benefits
